The law on air and the rational use of energy of 30/12/1996 entrusts air quality monitoring to Associations approved for :

• Monitor the air 24 hours a day, providing a daily index and forecast of air quality at every point in the region;
• Anticipate pollution episodes by alerting the authorities when regulatory thresholds are forecast or exceeded;
• Study pollution to improve knowledge, by monitoring pollutants that are not yet regulated (pesticides, ultrafine particles, indoor air, etc.) and by participating in research and development projects with its partners (research, health, etc.);
• Inform to raise awareness, by disseminating information that is as complete and accessible as possible to all audiences;
• Support decision-makers in their action plans.
