On June 12 and 13, 2023, Science-Po Lyon will be hosting the "Santé Environnement Travail: des données à la preuve" conference. This event is a participatory and exploratory research initiative focusing on exposure to industrial pollution in Lyon's chemical corridor. It will bring together researchers from a variety of disciplines and national backgrounds, as well as actors from civil society, through presentations, panels and round tables.
The symposium will kick off with a screening-debate of Todd Haynes' film "Dark Waters", to be held at Lyon's Cinéma Comoedia on Sunday June 11 at 8pm. The debate will be moderated by Louise Tschanz, a lawyer specializing in environmental law from Kaizen Avocat.
The first day of the symposium will be devoted to per- and polyfluoroalkyls (PFAS). The afternoon will be devoted to mobilization initiatives on these pollutants at European and international level, and will address the links between environmental and occupational health in the context of industrial pollution.
The second day will focus on the challenges of interdisciplinarity in the fields of environmental and occupational health, based on concrete interdisciplinary collaborations. It will examine the challenges and difficulties encountered during these collaborations, particularly with regard to the transition from data to evidence.
The main aim of this event is to seek new approaches to tackling environmental health issues through scientific research, adopting an open science perspective and fostering collaboration with stakeholders.
