From October 7 to 9, 2026, at the Lyon Convention Center, the Société Française de Microbiologie will be holding its 21st National Congress under the theme “At the confluence of microbial worlds”. This biennial event brings together fundamental researchers, clinicians and young microbiologists in a program built around the various sections and working groups of the learned society.
The topics covered cover a wide spectrum: clinical microbiology, environmental microbiology, microbial biotechnologies, biodiversity and evolution of microorganisms, epidemiology and population genomics, risk modeling, artificial intelligence, mycology and parasitology.
The session dedicated to environmental microbiology focuses on the relationship between micro-organisms and environmental quality (air, water and soil), a field directly linked to indoor and outdoor air quality issues.
