From November 24 to 26, 2026, the WHO Academy in Lyon will be hosting the Rencontres nationales du Réseau français Villes-Santé. Under the theme “Villes-Santé promotrices de l’équité en santé” (Healthy cities promoting health equity), this year’s event will bring together elected representatives, local authority technicians, public health professionals and associations to discuss major urban health issues.
Urban air quality is one of the key issues addressed by the network, which has almost one hundred members in France, and leads discussions on land-use planning, modes of transport, heat islands and inequalities in exposure to pollutants.
These meetings are part of the One Health approach and are organized under the aegis of the WHO’s European office.
