Airparif

Airparif's missions are in line with regulatory requirements, which can be broken down into four functions:

• Monitor air quality using measurement equipment and computer simulation tools, and thus contribute to the assessment of health risks and effects on the environment and buildings.
• Inform citizens, media, authorities and decision-makers:
  • by forecasting and disseminating daily air quality forecasts for the same day and the following day,
  • by participating in the operational alert system set up by the prefects of the Ile-de-France region in the event of an air pollution episode, in particular by forecasting such episodes so that emission reduction measures can be implemented by the authorities.
• Understand pollution phenomena and, using modeling tools, assess the joint effectiveness of proposed strategies to combat air pollution and climate change.
