Cerema (Centre d'Etudes et d'Expertise sur les Risques, l'Environnement, la Mobilité et l'Aménagement) is the benchmark public body for development, territorial cohesion and the ecological and energy transition.
As a multi-disciplinary center of scientific and technical expertise and resources, it contributes to the development, implementation and assessment of public policies. It works with government departments, local authorities and businesses to develop, test and disseminate innovative solutions.
Cerema supports local authorities in nine complementary fields of action:
Since January 1, 2014, CEREMA has been a public administrative body under the supervision of the ministries responsible for sustainable development, transport and urban planning, bringing together the expertise of various departments: the Centre d'études sur les réseaux, les transports, l'urbanisme et les constructions publiques (Certu); the Centre d'études techniques, maritimes et fluviales (Cetmef); the Service d'études sur les transports, les routes et leurs aménagements (Setra); and the eight Centres d'études techniques de l'équipement (Cete).
