CIRIMAT is a joint research unit of CNRS, Université Paul Sabatier - Toulouse 3 and Institut National Polytechnique.
CIRIMAT brings together expertise in materials science and engineering. Part of the activity of the OVM (Oxides à Valence Mixte) team focuses on the development of sensitive layers for semiconductor gas sensors (often called MOS or MOX).
Numerous national and international collaborations have been established through responses to calls for projects or direct contracts with industry. In particular, CIRIMAT has established strong, long-term links with industrial partners (major groups, subcontractors, SMEs, start-ups) in France and abroad, earning it the Institut Carnot label in the first wave in 2006.
In 2016, CIRIMAT joined forces with partners in Montpellier to be accredited under the name Institut Carnot Chimie Balard CIRIMAT.
In addition to facilities for developing and characterizing sensitive films, the team has dilution benches for carrying out electrical measurements at temperature and in a controlled atmosphere.
