CORIA (Complexe de Recherche Interprofessionnel en Aérothermochimie) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR) attached to the CNRS Institut d'Ingénierie et des Systèmes (INSIS), the Université de Rouen Normandie and INSA Rouen Normandie.
CORIA's research focuses on reactive and non-reactive flows: two-phase flow, turbulent mixing, combustion, plasmas, etc., and on optics and lasers. It combines theoretical studies, modeling, numerical simulations and experiments on different scales, with a particular focus on the development of optical and laser diagnostics and high-performance calculations.
The laboratory's scientific orientations are geared towards the decarbonization of energy, propulsion and industry by 2050.
Its work is in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (ODD 7, ODD 9, ODD 11, ODD 12, ODD 13), by responding to the challenges of efficient, clean, sober and affordable energy:
The 170-strong laboratory is located on the Madrillet Science and Engineering Campus, near Rouen in Normandy.
