Lig'Air
Lig'Air is a regional association under the French law of 1901, created on November 27, 1996 to monitor air quality in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
The association's role is to monitor air quality in the 6 départements of the Centre-Val de Loire region (Cher, Eure-et-Loir, Indre, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher and Loiret), and to provide information and disseminate its results.
Missions defined by LAURE (the French law on air and the rational use of energy): monitoring and information
1 - Air quality is continuously monitored by a technical network of measuring stations in urban and rural areas.
In addition to producing air quality data, this mission enables us to check compliance with regulatory air quality values. As part of this mission, Lig'Air also relies on modelling results to forecast pollution episodes, so that emission reduction measures can be taken in time to limit the exposure of sensitive individuals.
2 - Information for the public and authorities is provided on a daily basis or in the event of a pollution episode. Numerical and/or cartographic information derived from modeling is also available online, providing information on the air quality forecast for all points in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Reports on studies carried out by Lig'Air, activity reports and periodic bulletins are other means used by Lig'Air to ensure its information mission. Finally, national and European authorities are also kept informed of Lig'Air's measurement results, on the one hand through the daily transmission of measurements to national databases, and on the other through European reporting.
