Mycoscopia
Who we are:
MYCOSCOPIA is a laboratory specializing in mycological analysis of food and the environment.
The MYCOSCOPIA laboratory helps companies and individuals faced with a problem related to fungal development:
- Breeders, farmers, veterinarians, stud farms, zoos, agri-food industries, feed manufacturers...: Diagnostic assistance and advice in the event of suspected mycotoxicosis or fungal spoilage of feed.
- Individuals, physicians or medical advisors in indoor environments: Assessing the health risk associated with fungal growth in homes and professional or livestock premises
- Research: Identification of new fungicide molecules, characterization of fungal biodiversity, support for the development of rapid detection methods.
What we do:
- Global fungal analysis: Enumeration and identification of all living molds present in the sample supplied, to understand the origin of any alteration and/or toxic accident.
- Search for Stachybotrys: a highly toxigenic species (non-assayable toxins) responsible for Stachybotryotoxicosis in animals and "Sick Building Syndrome" in humans.
- Testing for Pythomyces: Assessing the risk of facial eczema in grazing animals (non-assayable toxins)
- Diagnosis of cutaneous or deep mycoses in animals(Aspergillus, Scopulariopsis, Fusarium, Mucorales...).
- Morphological identification of a species previously isolated on agar
- Evaluation of internal fungal flora (Ulster method): Evaluation of the % of grains infected by "internal" molds.
- Coumestrol assay (Thin Layer Chromatography) : Phyto-oestrogen that can disrupt animal reproduction (small ruminants are more sensitive).
