NanoSense
NanoSense is an SME based in the Paris region, founded in 2002. Its mission is to enable everyone to breathe clean air, while reducing energy consumption to promote comfort, productivity and health. Air quality is invisible and imperceptible, and the only way to perceive it is to measure it.
NanoSense was the first manufacturer of IAQ probes to combine VOC and CO2 measurement. This initial multi-sensor approach now enables us to integrate a dozen or so measurements on board our probes, so that we can optimally control ventilation and guarantee comfort, productivity and health in both the long and short term. In addition to this multi-pollutant approach and ambient measurements, we also take into account outdoor air quality, for a better remediation strategy and information on window opening opportunities.
Several NanoSense probes winners of AIRLAB's 2018 and 2019 Micro Sensors Challenge. The challenge involved putting 34 sensors through their paces in real-life situations for 6 months against regulatory devices.
QAI and QAE probes selected by the City of Paris for experiments in several schools.
Physiological impact assessment algorithm based on the cocktail effects of AQ and atmospheres.
Selected by UrbanLab and presented at the Assises National de la qualité de l'Air (Initiatives).
Key figures:
- 67,000 deaths every year in France due to fine particles alone (COVID: 56,000 in December 2020, i.e. over almost a year).
- It's the second leading cause of death after alcohol, and has overtaken smoking.
- The social cost of indoor air quality in France is estimated at 19 billion euros.
- 50% of schools in Ile-de-France are above the WHO PM10 threshold (2019)

We manufacture probes for measuring and controlling Indoor and Atmospheric Air Quality (IAQ and AAQ).
We measure the main pollutants and ambient parameters: CO2, VOCs, T°, Humidity, fine particles (PM1, PM2, PM10), Radon, NOx, Noise and HMI. Our range of products can be used to control HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems for improved health and energy efficiency in buildings. They are ideally suited to the renovation and new-build markets.
What's more, NanoSense products can measure air quality in any type of building. We're also doing more work in schools, thanks to the new ERP regulations.
We offer both IAQ and EAQ probes, some of which are compatible and comparable with each other for better indoor and outdoor air quality management.
We are located in Boulogne-Billancourt on the outskirts of Paris. We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
We operate throughout France with our own staff.
Appointments can be made on site via the contact form below, or by telephone on 01 41 41 00 02.
Concerning our range of probes, we have several indoor and outdoor air quality probes:
- EP5000: The EP5000 probe is our most comprehensive product range. It measures 11 indoor environmental parameters: CO2, VOCs, fine particles (PM10, PM2.5 & PM1), noise (peak and average), light (lux and color temperature), humidity and temperature. It controls mechanical air renewal in buildings, heating and air conditioning. With the QAA probe, it can also compare indoor and outdoor air quality, thanks to an LED indicator on the front of the probe.
This sensor promotes building efficiency and energy savings with its multi-sensor functions. It works with several communication protocols (LoRa, BLE, EnOcean, ZigBee, Modbus...).

- E4000-NG: The sensor measures indoor air quality and can also control heating and air conditioning with a self-adapting control loop. It measures 4 indoor environmental parameters: temperature, humidity, CO2 and VOCs. The E4000-NG sensor provides the best ventilation control thanks to its measurements. It is complementary to and comparable with the P4000-NG. It operates with several communication protocols (EnOcean, LON, KNX, Modbus, LoRa, 0-10V, dry contact).

- P4000-NG: The probe measures indoor air quality. It enables better management of fine particles in a building. Its sensor controls three sizes of fine particles: PM1, PM2.5, PM10. It complements the E4000-NG.

- AAQ sensor: This sensor measures outdoor air quality. It monitors 5 environmental parameters: temperature, humidity, fine particles (PM1, PM2.5, PM10). It can be used in conjunction with the E4000-NG and EP5000 probes for improved control of indoor and outdoor air quality. It is installed on a building façade. The communication protocols used are : EnOcean, LoRa, Modbus.

- E+P demonstration kit: This kit combines the performance of the E4000-NG and P4000-NG probes. It is capable of measuring C02, VOC, humidity and fine particles (PM1, PM2.5 and PM10), as well as temperature. The communication protocols used are : EnOcean, LoRa, Modbus.
