RESPIRE, Association Nationale pour l'Amélioration de la Qualité de l'Air et la Défense des Victimes de la Pollution, is a citizens' association, founded in February 2011, dedicated to improving air quality.
Respire is the leading national association in the fight against air pollution.
What we do:
Specialized and expert in understanding air pollution issues in France and Europe, Respire uses scientific data to inform, communicate, develop technical tools and build its advocacy.
The association raises awareness of the importance of air pollution issues. Its aim is to "make the invisible visible". Because pollution is invisible most of the time, and its victims are far too numerous: often, these people don't make the connection between their ailments and pollution.
Respire lobbies decision-makers: we are received by institutions to share our analyses and opinions, so that we can support them in their decisions (members of parliament, Court of Auditors, ministries, senatorial commission, etc.). Respire also leads or supports numerous legal actions. The association supports victims in their battles before the courts
