The Materials and Sustainability of Construction Laboratory (LMDC) offers scientific solutions for the sustainable development and eco-responsible management of buildings, civil engineering infrastructures and housing.
On the IAQ theme, an "Indoor Air Quality" research team is attached to the "Analysis and monitoring of buildings in their environment" division.
The LMDC's work on air quality aims to develop passive photocatalytic processes based on semiconducting oxide particles for indoor and outdoor air pollution control (reduction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds).
Devices for assessing air pollution control properties are also developed and optimized. Physico-chemical mechanisms and influential parameters are studied.
The LMDC is also interested in low-emission materials and inhibiting the proliferation of microorganisms, in response to issues linked to the health and comfort of occupants.
